Distemper Vaccine?   ……………

The Distemper vaccine (DA2PP for dogs, or FVRCP for cats) is recommended for all dogs and cats as part of their puppy or kitten vaccination, and as adults. Booster is given every three years after initial set of vaccines that are given one month apart and a year later.

Kennel Cough Vaccine?   ………

Kennel Cough (Bordetella)vaccine is recommended for dogs that are kenneled or dogs that come into close contact with other dogs. It is highly recommended for dogs who visit the dog park. The vaccine is given once a year. It usually given directly into the nose or the mouth.

Leptospirosis Vaccine?   ………

The Leptospirosis vaccine is recommended for hunting dogs, or outdoor dogs. Recently we noticed an increase in the exposure to this disease by other dogs. We are starting to recommend this vaccine to every dog. The vaccine is given once a year after two initial boosters that are given one month apart.

Lyme Vaccine?   ………………….

Recommended for dogs that are at risk for exposure to ticks, such as hunting dogs and outdoor dog. Given once a year after two initial boosters that are given one month apart. We also recommend using a tick control preparation (such as Advantix®) in addition to this vaccine for these dogs that are at high risk for tick exposure.

Feline Leukemia Vaccine?   …..

Recommended only for cats that are going outside without supervision, or for cats that come into a close contact with strange or stray cats. Given once yearly after an initial booster two months apart.
